Description
George III Antique Silver swing handled helmet shaped sugar basket decorated with beaded borders throughout and bright cut engraving of floral garlands enclosing vacant cartouche to front, supported by circular pedestal foot , made in 1779 by Burrage Davenport in London. The basket is fitted with a detachable Bristol blue glass liner. The basket and liner are in excellent condition ready for use. The basket measures 10 cms in height excluding handle with top diameter of 8 cms. The basket is fully and clearly marked beneath the pedestal foot.
Without the blue glass lining the basket weighs in at 4.5 Troy ozs.
