Description
This is an Antique Victorian Silver mounted cold water or juice jug in the form of an Early Blackjack leather pitcher or jug made in 1897 by Francis Boone Thomas of New Bond Street, London. It is finely inscribed on front with the bold initials C R either side of a Royal Crown presumably that of Charles 1. Beneath the Royal Crown is the date 1646 being the year Charles I surrendered to the Scots at Newark in the First English Civil War. The jug measures 19 cms in height and is in perfect condition ready for use.
